La traducción del clásico infantil Peter Pan es una de esas exquisiteces dentro de la producción de Pedro Henríquez Ureña (1884-1946). La versión novelada realizada por Frederick Orville Perkins de la obra del escritor escocés James Mathew Barrie sería vertida por primera vez al castellano en las páginas de El Mundo. Hasta hoy, esta versión de Peter Pan de Pedro Henríquez Ureña había quedado restringida a su primera edición. Ahora la compartimos.

Peter Pan fue originalmente una obra de teatro, luego, en 1911, el autor la transformó en libro. Desde 1917, el travieso e inasible personaje recorrió los escritorios mexicanos. Finalmente la traducción de Peter Pan sería realizada por Pedro Henríquez Ureña, amigo y maestro tanto de Reyes como de Torri. El dominicano la publicaría en el periódico El Mundo fundado y dirigido por Martín Luis Guzmán en 1923
