Sinopsis
La corriente del Delta del Orinoco es la red por la que fluyen y se conectan siglos, naciones, novelistas, cuentistas, cantantes, pintores, poetas; y en ella el pescador José Balza nos lleva a través de imágenes, paisajes, versos y boleros. Consta de cuatro partes: en la primera, Baltasar Gracián, El Lunajero, Hernando Domínguez Camargo y fray Juan Antonio de Navarrete nos recrean el Siglo de Oro y la Colonia; en la segunda José Balza nos introduce y explica su país natal a través del ensayo "Pensar a Venezuela", para después presentarnos algunas voces más reconocidas: José Antonio Ramos Sucre, Silda Cordoliani, Julio Garmendia, Gustavo Guerrero, Rafael Cadenas, Josú Landa... En la tercera parte nos lleva por un recorrido a lo largo de la literatura hispanoamericana de la segunda mitad del siglo XX festejando, disfrutando y compartiéndonos sus hallazgos en las creaciones de Octavio Paz, Sergio Pitol, Alejandro Rossi, Julio Ortega, Eduardo Milán y Adolfo Castañon, entre otros. En la cuarta y última parte de esta red, el navegante Balza nos cuenta sobre la historia y las luminarias de un ritmo tan íntimo como lo es el bolero.
