Sinopsis
En 2016, uno de los instrumentos de mayor trascendencia en el derecho
internacional, el Pacto Internacional de Derechos Civiles y Políticos,
cumplió 50 años. Tantos años no son poco tiempo para los textos jurídicos.
Son años suficientes para que un documento legal haya podido
influir de alguna forma en el diseño de nuestro entorno social -si es
que alguna virtud transformadora de realidades asumimos del derecho.
Sobre todo, es una edad suficiente para imaginar una prospectiva
renovada en la protección y garantía de los textos pensados para el goce
de los derechos. Reinterpretaciones contemporáneas del Pacto Internacional
de Derechos Civiles y Políticos es un esfuerzo por proponer lecturas
actualizadas de un documento convencional, producido, sí, por la voluntad
estatal pero que exige desarrollarse más allá de ella.
El texto reúne miradas académicas que miran los fenómenos sociales
contemporáneos con lentes afinados en la tutela de los derechos
humanos y en el rescate y consolidación de la dignidad de las personas.
Quienes participan, desde distintas trayectorias académicas, algunas
en formación doctoral, han sido convocados a leer y releer el pidcyp
para ofrecer diagnósticos y soluciones inmediatas a nuestro tiempo y a
nuestras realidades.
