Las revistas literarias y culturales siempre han ofrecido un espacio de privilegio para generar pautas de discusión y acción cultural e intelectual, por tanto, ideológica en el ámbito sociopolítico. Los estudios aquí reunidos tienen como hilo conductor el análisis de la presencia de América Latina como asunto filosófico, histórico y coyuntural en 18 revistas literarias y culturales latinoamericanas, considerando sus diferentes tintes ideológicos y políticos. El encaramiento deja afuera cualquier clasificación jerárquica, en atención tanto a agendas culturales emergentes como a las establecidas de acuerdo con una consideración de su papel canónico, aun más allá de fronteras nacionales.
