Sinopsis
El consumo de alimentos, servicios, productos y agua, entre otros, por la sociedad, determina si una sociedad es sustentable. Se requieren colaboraciones multidisciplinares para diseñar, desarrollar y aplicar herramientas informáticas y así poder estimar el comportamiento de los consumos de la sociedad.
Los escenarios pactados en 2015 en los acuerdos de París plantean a México un reto importante para cumplir con la reducción de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero derivadas de actividades en el sector energético.
El primer ciclo de conferencias de la Red temática del Conacyt- México, "Sustentabilidad energética, medioambiente y sociedad", Red SUMAS, reunió a académicos e investigadores interesados en el tema para discutir sobre el escenario energético mexicano, los modelos energéticos que se conocen con datos obtenidos de dependencias oficiales nacionales e internacionales, así como las proyecciones al 2050. El escenario actual conduce a emisiones que contribuirían en un factor de 3 al incremento de la temperatura en el calentamiento global.
Esta obra señala las oportunidades, retos y datos necesarios para analizar la contribución de México al cambio climático en un sentido positivo o negativo, dependiendo del actuar de la sociedad. Existe una oportunidad de dar cumplimiento a los acuerdos y conducir a México en una economía de bajas emisiones de carbono
