La teología, desde hace ya más de un siglo, viene buscando respuestas a un hecho que Pablo VI calificaba como un drama: la separación entre fe y vida. La teología narrativa es una respuesta a esa interrogación aún vigente no sólo entre los teólogos, sino también entre los evangelizadores: catequistas, educadores religiosos, padres de familia, misioneros, etc. Al partir de los relatos de fe como su materia prima, la teología narrativa recupera una dimensión descuidada en el quehacer teológico: la experiencia de fe, cuya forma original es el relato, y no el discurso. Esa experiencia se encuentra plasmada primero en la Biblia y seguidamente en los múltiples relatos de fe que la escritura ha engendrado durante más de veinte siglos entre los seres humanos.
