Sinopsis
El tránsito de Colombia hacia estadios avanzados de desarrollo ha sido irregular a lo largo de su historia. En términos económicos, dicha irregularidad reposa en problemas que en la literatura han sido catalogados como estructurales. ¿Cuáles son esos problemas estructurales? ¿Cómo aproximarse a ellos? ¿Cómo estudiarlos y ofrecer respuestas sobre su naturaleza? ¿Con qué herramientas contamos para su estudio? El objetivo de estos apuntes de clase es estudiar desde una perspectiva histórica los problemas estructurales de la economía colombiana. Para el logro de este objetivo se propone un cambio en la metodología de estudio de la historia económica nacional. Ya no se tratará de una aproximación en la que los hechos son narrados linealmente y en la que se describe el funcionamiento de la economía en distintos momentos -partiendo de la economía colonial y llegando a las últimas décadas del siglo XX-, sino que se adoptará un enfoque por problemas. El propósito de adoptar este tipo de metodología es que el estudiante comprenda las principales problemáticas del país desde una perspectiva histórica y no que se convierta en el depositario de una serie de hechos cuya interrelación desconoce.
